A husband brings breakfast to his wife on St. Valentine's Day and says, "There you are, darling, breakfast in bed." (The breakfast consists of a bowl, a spoon, a carton of milk, and a box of cereal. This comes from a cartoon.)

I understand that this "There you are" is idiomatic for "This is for you."

Would a fellow Reed-Kellogg fan please tell me how to diagram that cartoon caption?

I am clueless.

Thank you,

James

It doesn't make a lot of sense to me to diagram an idiom.
