Question What is the pronunciation of 'cause?

    Hi, guys.
As you know, 'cause is the colloquial form of because.
According to the website oxforddictionaries.com, the pronunciation of because and cause is /bēˈkəz/ and /kôz/ in order:

    because: http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/de...nglish/because
    cause: http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/de..._english/cause

Now, I do not know if the pronunciation of 'cause is /kôz/ or /kəz/!
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance.
Imam Ali (A.S.): My God, I did not worship You for the fear of Your hell, nor in the hope of Your paradise. Rather, I found You worthy of worship and so I worshiped You.

Re: What is the pronunciation of 'cause?

I would express it as /kʌz/. I am not familiar with the central symbol in /kôz/. In extremely rapid speech, speakers of AmE might shade towards /kəz/.

Re: What is the pronunciation of 'cause?

I don't do phonetic symbols but in BrE, it's "coz". It rhymes with "was".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Re: What is the pronunciation of 'cause?

The abbreviation 'cause is pronounced exactly like the second syllable of the word because i.e. /bēˈkəz/.

The pronunciation /kôz/ is of the different word cause, which rhymes with pause.
