    God blessed

After Tom sneezed, he said "excuse me." I say, "God blessed you".
Then Tom will say, "Thank you."

1). Is the above dialogue correct and polite?

2). Shall we say the same things after one coughed?

    Thank you.

    Re: God blessed

When someone sneezes, we often say 'Bless you'. Devout Christians might say 'God bless you'.

'Thank you' is the correct response.

It does not apply to coughing.
