    articles, objects, things

To avoid getting the flu, after we touch the (A. articles, B. objects, C. things) (A. touched, B. used) by large numbers of people, for example, doorknobs, light switches, remote controls, faucets, telephone receivers and shopping carts, we should wash our hands with soap and water or liquid hand sanitizers.

In the first parenthesis, which is the best choice? My guess is A. Am I right? Or is there a better word for this context? In the second parenthesis, which is the better choice? Thank you a lot.

What is the purpose of this exercise?

Will the essay be handed in to your teacher?

Like TheParser, I'd avoid using the repetitive 'touch/touched'.

If it's necessary to stick more strictly to the OP, I'd change 'after we touch' to 'after handling', or choose 'used' for the second option.

If you don't want to get the flu then don't shake hands. And wear one of those masks to protect yourself.

Another person's hands can be a problem, but one's own hands are even more of a problem.
