Is it correct and why ?

Thanksgiving Dy, a uniquely North American holiday, is celebrated...etc

I've seen this sentence in a question and i thought the word uniquely is wrong since it is an adverb where an adjective should be used; however, the key answer doesn't say anything about this word in fact it picked another word in the sentence which is also wrong.

Please clear this thing for me.

The word "uniquely" is, in fact, an adjective in that sentence.

No. "Uniquely" is an adverb there. It modifies "North American", which is an adjective modifying "holiday".

Mike, you are right, of course. North America, which is normally a noun, is an adjective in this case. (Time for me to take a nap. )

finix, please note that a better title would have been A uniquely North American holiday.
