    Professional Introduction

    Hi all,

    I am a non-native English learner.

Can you say me some ideas on giving professional introduction to the English people.
What do they expect. How would be their typical way of introduction.
I want to say about me in 5 minutes.

    Please guide me.

    Re: Professional Introduction

Five minutes is far too long to talk about yourself. You'll bore people rigid.

    Re: Professional Introduction

People generally do not like to listen to 'I', 'me' and 'myself' too much in a presentation.

Have you been told you need to talk about yourself for 5 minutes? Will the video conference have any other purpose except introducing yourself to a group of people? Are they people you are going to be working with?

    Re: Professional Introduction

What would you say if you were introducing yourself to a new group of colleagues in your own language? Think about that, then write an English version. Post that here and we can have a look at it. We don't know what they expect from you. All companies are different.

    Re: Professional Introduction

That team already know about myself through my brief introduction mail. This will be the first time I am going to interact with them through video conference.
So I don't know what and all required to say and I don't want to say about my family. And also, other team members have to say their introduction. So I decided to give a very brief introduction about me in 1-2 minutes.

Hi All, Good morning. This is Vijayalakshmi. I belong to XXX state from India. Having X years of experience in X technologies. Previously, I worked with XXX company and I joined in Y company, last month. My hobbies.. I like to browse and read news online, cooking and watching movies.

Anything else to say... and also request you to correct the errors in the above lines.
