Question What is difference between ..

    Hello.

Infact, I was listening to a converstation of Interchange Book. One of persons said : "I'm studying in English".

And now, I have two questions :
    - What is difference between "I'm studying in English" and "I'm studying English" ?
    - Which one is correct ?

    Explain it, please.

    Have a good day.

    [Not a teacher]

"Studying English" means to study the English language, its grammar, lexicon, phonology, semantics, etc.

"Studying in English" means to study any subject or matter in this language (history, computing, medicine, engineering, or the Rolling Stones' music).

Oh. Thank you José Manuel Rosón Bravo.

    To teachers :
    - Is José Manuel Rosón Bravo's answer true ?

Do you have any comments ?

    I am not a teacher.

I was going to write an answer, but José beat me to it, (and I agree with him).

For 'studying in English' I would add that students in the Erasmus Programme (or similar student exchange schemes), study in the language of the country they are in. It is quite correct in this context, but not if you are just studying the English language from your native language's perspective.

This is very interesting note. In such case, the English language would be like any other subject or matter.

R3za, please note that a better title would have been I am studying in English.
