I am looking for the right verb.

I am trying to find the right verb that fits the second sentence.

(ex) This piece of land is currently used for a carnival. Soon, the land will be dedicated to (or reserved for ) construction of a new museum.

I am not sure if I can use either verb in red there . If either one does not work, what can I use? Please help me. Thank you very much for your time and help.

    Perhaps:

Soon the land will become the site for the construction of a new museum.

Re: I am looking for the right verb.

May I ask one more question about my post? If I took off the words, "construction of" and said, "This land will be dedicated to a museum", does it make sense?

Does the new sentence mean, "The land will be given to a museum." ? Please explain my questions. Thanks again.

Re: I am looking for the right verb.

"Dedicated" does not mean the land is given to a museum owner. A piece of land can be leased.
You can say: the land is desigated/earmarked for a museum.

    not a teacher

You can donate land (as you can many other things).

Re: I am looking for the right verb.

I like Tarheel's example. Here's another way to say it:

Soon, the land will be a construction site for a new museum.
