The mechanism releases the bikes (for people) to use/for use/to be used

    Hello everybody!

I have mentioned three ways of expressing (almost) the same thought, yet I would like to check with you to make sure that I get them right.

    1. The mechanism releases the bikes (for people) to use = the mechanism releases the bikes in such a way that people can make use of them. (use is a verb).
    2. The mechanism releases the bikes for use = the mechanism releases the bikes so that they can be used (use is a noun).
    3. The mechanism releases the bikes to be used = the same as above, the mechanism releases the bikes so that they can be used (use is a noun). (to be used is an infinitive in the passive voice).

    What do you think?

As to usage, in my opinion all your examples are correct and natural.

I am not a sufficient grammarian to pass judgment on "an infinitive in the passive voice." I've never heard of such a beast before, but we would all know what you meant and that's what's important.
