Looking for the right collocation for 'plant'...

    Hi,

Is there any difference between the two verbs when used with 'plant'? Actually, I used to think 'raise' cannot be used with 'plant', but since I've seen samples in different contexts I thought it might have a different meaning!)

    To raise/grow a plant...

(But I suppose we can raise animals perhaps?!)

We grow or cultivate plants, raise children and breed animals.

    There are other possibilities.

For me, we can also raise plants, crops, and animals.
