    Find one's substitution

Indeed the family circle has widened, but not before it has also shrunk – a contraction of embodied wide-kinship networks which then find substitution in the global openness of electronic media of all kinds.

It is in David Holmes' Communication Theory. A remark towards Marshall McLuhan's words below: "The family circle has widened. The worldpool of information fathered by electric media – movies, Telstar, flight – far surpasses any possible influence mom and dad can now bring to bear. Character no longer is shaped by only two earnest, fumbling experts. Now all the world’s a sage’ (in McLuhan and Fiore, 1967: 14).

Infact I could not get what it genreally means but if find substitution is explained I think I can get it

    Re: Find one's substitution

Do you understand the general meaning of the word "substitution" and the verb "to substitute"?
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Re: Find one's substitution

Is it like exploring one's own replacement? Even if so the sentence make no sense to me
