    Describing a stand

Hello, we say ' we take a stand on something ' but how do we describe a stand? The only way I know is to say ' to take a firm stand / to stand firm on something .' How do we describe somebody who always changes his stand? Thank you!

but how do we describe a stand?
That was a truly dishonorable stand.
His stand on the environment was crystal clear.

How do we describe somebody who always changes his stand?
    Inconsistent.
