now that + past perfect-simple past

    Hi

    - Now that Betty had won the nomination, she was going to campaign for the election.
    - Now that Betty won the nomination, she was going to campaign for the election.
    - Now that Betty won the nomination, she is going to campaign for the election.

I tried to write such three sentences. I would like to ask if I used the tenses in those sentence correctly or not.

    Thank you.

Only #1 is correct for me.

I prefer #1, but I would accept #2. The sequence of the past events is clear without the past perfect.

    #2 is ungrammatical in BrE.

I find #2 and #3 ungrammatical. #3 should be "Now that Betty has won the nomination, she is going to campaign for the election".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
