Introduction

With the increase in the world population, there is the corresponding increase in the demand for energy, transport, housing, etc. and hence, the need to build the facilities to provide for the demand. For example, fuel consumption is one of the critical issues in the recent century. Therefore, government strategies decrease the fuel consumption due to lack of reproducible resources such as oil. However, technology is advancing quickly; simultaneously, the demand for that technology is going up too. Certainly, we need different kinds of energy to use from any technology and also we have to provide that energy. We have different kinds of energy too that produce in the different ways. Before nuclear energy was produced, electricity was produced by hydro-power systems which is one of the clean and reproducible systems. However today, technology is spreading quickly but it is not possible for all countries to have nuclear energy, and most of the countries still use the hydro-power system in order for electricity to be produced. For example, in most of the high-populated countries, because of huge traffic and transportation problems they developed their country with transportation systems such as subways(metro), highways, (turbo-Tran)1, city internal tunnels and so on. For example, the subway has to be dug underground for many kilometers to make the train route for carrying the passengers from one point to another point. We have to think about the population energy usage per hour for the cocking, driving, entertaining, resting, etc. and calculate how much energy we need each day of our life and how much equipment we need to produce the energy. One very important type of energy in modern lives is the electricity, which is produced by two main ways including nuclear energy and hydro-power energy. For example, the hydro-power system is a huge project which is divided to so many sub-projects that one of those projects is the water transporting tunnel. There is no nuclear energy in Srilanka to produce electricity but with consideration, the high amount of water flow in this country can be used for hydro-power systems to produce electricity as well. So with the above explanation, we have decided to research about this subject area, especially researching about tunnel sections and we will see what is going on in that.

1: I'm not sure whether it is supposed to be 'turbo-trains' or if 'turbo-Tran' is just a railway company.

Therefore governments strategies are decrease the fuel consumption due to lack of reproducible resource such as oil.

Therefore governments strategies are [STRIKE]decrease[/STRIKE] geared towards reducing the reliance on the [STRIKE]fuel [/STRIKE][STRIKE]consumption[/STRIKE] fossil fuels due to lack of [STRIKE]reproducible[/STRIKE] renewable energy resources[STRIKE] such as oil.[/STRIKE]

Note: The standard term is renewable energy resources, not reproducible resources.
