empower and stand for your boss

Its always OK to disagree with your boss. When you support, empower and stand for your boss, your disagreement will make a difference for performance and for your boss.

What does 'empower' mean in the above sentence?

Empower in that sentence means to add more power to the boss. Supporting the boss and standing up for you boss. You make your boss look good by empowering him.

TW, that should be "your boss", not "you boss".
