    the use of articles

Are the articles used correctly in this text? Could you please correct it to sound natural?

I would like to tell you about the Browns family. They are a very happy family who live in France. There are mother, father, daughter and brother. Mother is a housewife and a very pretty lady, her name is Jean. Father is a businessman and a very serious man, his name is Jeff.

If I were a native speaker of English, I would never shut up. :-)

    Re: the use of articles

Is the family's surname "Browns" or "Brown"?
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Then it's "the Brown family" or just "the Browns". There are a lot of articles missing from your original post. Have another try.

    Re: the use of articles

I noticed that they sometimes use words like Mother without an article. Is it only when we're talking about our own relatives? Should we always capitalize the words in this case?

I have added the articles. Is it OK now?

There were a couple of errors of punctuation.

Well done. Your revised version was much better.
