s(an adjective cannot be plural) experience during my middle childhood age (what do you mean by this? why not state the age?). When I was
at age10, I usually gowent for rabbit hunting son Sundays along with my senior colleaguesolder friends (surely not at the age of 10!) in my village. It was a cloudy but rainless day but rainless. We always planned our huntingshunting trips to be held after a rainy day as rabbits areusually comecame out from their burrows for foraging at dawn and dusk. It iswas also easyeasier to track the rabbit stoe marksfootprints on the surfaceon the ground. We carried hunting tools such as swords, rods and sticks etc. Since I was the youngest one, my colleaguesfriends instructed me to carry hunted rabbitsthe rabbits caught. We also tookbrought our trained hunting dogs along due to it'sfor their abilities of sniffing power and relentless chase. We located the rabbits' hide-out through some rabbit toe marksfootprints. We encircled the warrens where we guessedfigured thata herd of rabbits were to be restingwould rest. We just keepkept silent and prepared ourselves in a stand-outspread out (?) position with our traditional tools around the warrens at thewithin a radius of 35 metres. I was with the hunting dogs at theoutside ofthe circle.
One of our hunters
thrownthrew a stone into the warren sto moveforce the rabbits out. All rabbits were scared toand ran (scampered) in different directions. Three rabbits were hunted atcaught in the inner circle, othertwo wounded ones escaped with woundsand ran in zig-zag motion (staggered) along the edges of the pool. Both of our hunting dogs werepursued the rabbits up to two miles and aneventually caught those rabbitsthem whenthey tried to hide- out into thehide in another warren. We hunted a total 5 rabbits amounting toweighing 20 kg. As per hunting rule, "every participant sshould get an equal share sirrespective of their performances”. I also got my share s amounting toof 2.5 kg.
When I returned home, my mother was surprised and asked me: Wow! Is this
agethe season for hunting? I said: “Mummy, ThisThe season is just starting. I want to become a police man. This experience definitely would help me to pursue thieves once I joined the police force”. My mother laughed and acclaimedapprovingly.
This is one of the most pleasant memories
inof my childhood life.
