    And(,) when she . . .

    Hello,

    - . . . And(,) when she and herself agreed upon a thing, the thing was done.

I tried to write such a sentence. I would like to ask if the comma after 'and' is needed or not.

    Thank you!

Where did you find that rather odd sentence?

    Re: And(,) when she . . .

Well, "When she and herself" is not grammatical. Can you give us some context and give us the sentences before this one?

What are you trying to say? What thing? Aren't 'she' and 'herself' the same person?

    not a teacher

    Re: And(,) when she . . .

Maybe she has schizophrenia. So she talks to herself.

Is that the context? You wrote the sentence so only you know what you mean.

Yes. And sorry for not providing you with the context before. Now, is the sentence correct with the comma after 'and'? Should I omit that?

    Re: And(,) when she . . .

I asked you to give us the actual context not "Maybe she's schizophrenic". I also asked you to give us the sentences which go before the one you have written. Regardless of schizophrenia excuses, "She and herself" is still incorrect.
