Is it appropriate to use below sentence in a formal writing : "Treat sb like an object" or " somebody feels that they are treated like an object"
For example : slaves were treated like objects

I do not know why all examples I've read are used to describe relationships

I it is appropriate, could you please give me some alternatives?

    Thanks a lot

    Re: Treat

Yes, you can use the sentence, "The slaves were treated like objects" in formal writing.
You haven't said what you are trying to exemplify, so I don't know why the examples you've read are all used to describe relationships either.
