I have to write an essay for history class on a book which details the Napoleonic wars. Furthermore, this purpose of this essay is to detail how the author shows biases/perspective in his/her writings on the Napoleonic wars. How would one go about this?
Tell me what you gather from the directions
The directions are to:
- Outline the perspective
- Develop the perspective of the author
- Isolate what the "biases might be
- What affects his/her writing?
- Give some discussion on why you think he writes this way ex: "possibly reflective of..."
The teacher emphatically stated that this is not prejudice, but perspective.
While doing this I must pick of quotes which have the most significance, relevant to the Napoleonic era.
What does this translate to you?
If you were assigned this paper what strategies would you use to go about reading and then writing this paper? how would you start how would you end?
