    "more of the same"

Many people believe that creative thinking is a special gift, possessed by only a few people. This is not always true. As the Roman numeral examples show, creative thinking sometimes needs no special gift or creative talent, and anyone can generate new ideas. However, many of us tend to lock our thinking into what we already know. To develop our creative thinking skills, we need to stop thinking "more of the same" and try to look at the things from a new perspective with an open mind. This way, we can be more creative.

What does "more of the same" mean here? repetitive same things or to think of the same thing in a big way?

Not a teacher, nor a native.

In my humble opinion, it means "the same old perspective, same old way of thinking". In order to develop creative thinking, we need to stop thinking in the old way,old perspective, and try to look at the things from a new perspective .
