come to Australia and Played as well as - Is it grammatical?

This is one of the posts I saw in my Facebook timeline today.

"I can't think of an Indian batsman who had come to Australia and played as well as Virat Kholi in test matches"- Rahul Dravid

Is the above quote grammatically correct?

What did you think might be wrong with it, Kumar Nadimuthu?
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Initially I understood that he is talking about only Virat Kholi as batsman mentioned in the singular form. So, If I replaced ''who 'with "Virat Kholi" the second part will be read as " Virat Kholi had come to Australia and played as well as Virat Kholi in test matches". It doesn't sound to me. Still my doubts are not clear.

Has he talking about other than Virat Kholi (any batsman) in the first part ?

Does it help you understand if we change the first few words to "I can't think of any [other] Indian batsman ..."?

Yes. That is my doubt. I already mentioned in brackets. Now it's cleared. Thanks.
