Game machines? Playing machines? Slot machines?

What are the machines called which children play at amusement centers? You put a coin or a token in it and play table hockey or other games for some time untill your time runs out.

For example, is it correct to say: Yesterday we went to (name of the place) and played game machines there.

If I were a native speaker of English, I would never shut up. :-)

In the US such games are commonly called 'arcade games'.
