    'In addition to' or 'During'

    Hi,
I have problem with sentences structures.

    I have a sentence:

    Research:
In addition to his academic activities, he conducted research focused on design, implementation and operation of novel algorithm using artificial intelligence. Within the framework of his research he developed four solutions and presented their result in his four scientific publications.

It seems to me that this sentence have mistake. I was trying corrected sentence.

    1. In addition to his academic activities, he conducted research focused on design, implementation and operation of novel algorithm using artificial intelligence. Within the framework of his research he developed four solutions and presented their result in his four scientific publications.
    2. During to his academic activities, he conducted research focused on design, implementation and operation of novel algorithm using artificial intelligence. Within the framework of his research he developed four solutions and presented their result in his four scientific publications.

I am not sure, which sentence is correct and better?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Re: 'In addition to' or 'During'

    "During" is wrong.

Did he do some "academic activities" and then he also did this research?

It should either be "a novel algorithm" (if it is one) or "novel algorithms" (if more than one).

What do you think about it?

As part of his academic activities, he conducted research focused on design, implementation and operation of novel algorithms using artificial intelligence. Within the framework of his research he developed two solutions and presented their result in his two scientific publications.

Re: 'In addition to' or 'During'

    "... on the design,..."

"Results." Maybe "his results" instead of "their results."
