I'm currently in NYC attending a car exhibit while my mom still lives in LA. I say to a friend:

Our moms are church in LA buddies, and I think my mom said something to yours about me coming/going to the NYC convention, and coincidentally your mom said you'd be here too.

Should I use coming or going since I'm at the exhibit in NY and not LA.

A stickler might say it depends on where you and your friend are. If you are both in NYC, coming is better. It you are both in LA, going is better. If either of you is elsewhere, it is pretty much a free-for-all: any combination works. In actual everyday usage, both work fine regardless of where you are.

Since you are such an excellent student, please allow me to comment on something else: "Our moms are church in LA buddies". This word order is not natural. "Our moms are church buddies in LA", and "Our moms are LA church buddies" are natural.

Yes, sorry that was a typo. I meant: Our mom's are church buddies in LA.

No, you didn't. If an apostrophe had been necessary in moms probus would have put one in.
