books as a source /as sources

    Hi,

    *self-made sentence*

    - I used those books as a source /as sources in this paper.

Should I use 'a source' or 'as sources' in the sentence. I feel confused because of the plural word 'books.'

    Thanks.

As of source of what? Source of reference?
It could be either singular or plural depending on whether you look at it collectively or individually.

    not a teacher

Re: books as a source /as sources

Since there was more than one book, I would use "books as sources for this paper".
