    application coming or coming application?

    Good afternoon,
I would like to use a noun phrase which describe the applications input to the system. Can I use the phrase: "the coming application"?

For example: The coming application increased strongly.

    Many thanks.

The applications increased would work for me.

Re: application coming or coming application?

You could use "incoming applications". However, that could be said to be tautologous as applications don't really go in any other direction.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Re: application coming or coming application?

    Thanks Tdol, Emsr2d2,

@ Tdol: Does it mean "the applications" implicates the full meaning? However, I want to emphasize the meaning of the word: "coming" or the synonyms of it, but I'm not sure how to use.

@ Emsr2d2: Can I use "inputted applications" instead of "incoming applications"?

Re: application coming or coming application?

    Hi all,
Related to this content, I have another question.
My boss told me a word that I couldn't realize what that word was. I heard its pronunciation as /'po:din/, I'm not sure about that sound, but I counldn't find out any words like that.
The suituation was that all applications were inputted on the system including new ones and reversed from other stage. I had reported to my boss the quantity off all applications, But he had just wanted to know the quantity of new ones only. So, he said:" how many /'po:din/ apps is?"
It means that the sound /po:din/ implies the new applications.
    Pls help me.
    Thank you very much.
