    Please take a look at the sentences:

    If you're still in town tomorrow, we could go to the bar next to my place. Don't worry about not having an ID, that shouldn't be a problem, as they rarely check. Yeah, let me know, we would have/will have a good time.

    I decided to use would here because I thought sticking to the tenses made it more natural. could, shouldn't, would.

    In my opinion your first idea/guess (that they are equivalent) is correct.

    Always go with your first guess is a principle that has served me well in life.

    See any of your other threads regarding 'will' and 'would'. The difference is always going to be the same (Except perhaps in America, if Mike is right).
    Whether there's any difference in usage regionally, the grammatical difference is not hard to understand.
