Sellers do not have the costs

Sellers do not have the costs associated with running a traditional "brick-and-mortar"business

One day SoothingDave suggested me the sentence above, but I don't entirely understand it. I was looking for the bold part in a dictionary but I didn't find anything.

Would you mind explaining it to me?

    I am not a teacher.

I don't know what the original sentence was about, but it seems to mean that sellers do not incur the same costs as…

In other words, their expenses are less than those of 'traditional brick-and-mortar businesses.

Re: Sellers do not have the costs

Hm. Sellers often do run brick-and-mortar businesses. They're called stores. Maybe seller isn't exactly what you mean.
I'm not a teacher. I speak American English. I've tutored writing at the University of Southern Maine and have done a good deal of copy editing and writing, occasionally for publication.

Re: Sellers do not have the costs

I'd like to provide the whole context then:

There are many pluses of e-shopping. First of all, online shops are open 24 hours a day, so people can buy whatever they want if they have Internet access. Secondly, it is much more comfortable to purchase products lying on your bed instead of running around in a store.Thridly, prices in such shops are lower, because sellers do not have the costs associated with running a traditional "brick-and-mortar" business.

Would it be acceptable to replace "Sellers" in this sentence with "Online retailers"?

Re: Sellers do not have the costs

Thridly, prices in such shops are lower, because online retailers do not have to pay (or simply "do not pay" ) the costs associated with running a traditional "brick-and-mortar" business.

Re: Sellers do not have the costs

Thirdly, prices in such online shops are lower because sellers do not have the overhead costs associated with running a traditional "brick-and-mortar" business.

Yes, that is what I meant.
