    Buy 2 Get 1 Free

When I come back from Singapore tour, I went to duty free shop at airport to buy liquors for my friends where I saw an offer ‘Buy 2 Get 1 Free’. I took 2 bottles of wine each quantifying one litre and priced SGD20. I thought, if I buy 2, I can pay only SGD20. When I went for billing, Filipino madam told me: "I would charge for 2 bottles, you have to pay SGD40 and you can take one more bottle.” I argued with her for the offer title. Then I took one more bottle and paid SGD40.

When I gone through scanning of my luggages in Chennai Airport, Airport Security caught me and told that only 2 litres allowed per head. I told, I am not intentionally brought it. It’s an offer! He refused to listen my words. He said: “either you have to pay a fine of INR1150 or you have to surrender one bottle.” The amount he had asked me was INR100 more than the price I was bought it. Then I surrendered one bottle and at once he put it in to his bag. Finally, Singapore offer has gone to Chennai-Police!

Am I cheated by them at Singapore airport? or Am I misunderstood? The offer title was as said above.

Please also check for any grammatical errors.

    No. You were not cheated.
That offer means you buy two at the regular price and you can take a third for no additional money.

If you buy only one, you pay full price for one.
If you buy only two, you pay full price for two.
Only if you get three do you get "the deal."

It is unfortunate that the three bottles were more than you were allowed to import. Next time drink one bottle at the airport!
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

For you to have paid for just one bottle and taken two, the offer would have said "Buy One, Get One Free". This is also known as a "BOGOF" (pronounced "bog-off" because originally it was "Buy One, Get One For Free").
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

In the US that is usually "BOGO" (but one get one).

The duty free shop is under no obligation to inform you of the import allowances of whatever country you are traveling to. You could have had a partner and he/she could have freely "imported" one of your three bottles without paying any duties.

Or, you could have been flying to Saudi Arabia and had all of your liquor confiscated, maybe even faced criminal sanctions.

It is not the duty of the duty free shop to make sure you are legal entering whatever country you go to.
