    Hi,

    *self-made sentence*

    - The weather so cold; I decided not to go out.

    I would like to ask whether the usage of the semicolon in the sentence is OK or not.

    It's not a good idea to splice two sentences together usually. Whether you use a comma or a semicolon, but a comma splice is more common.

    The lack of a verb in "the weather so cold" is more troubling.

    It should have been "the weather was so cold."

    The weather was so cold I decided not to go out. A comma after "cold" is optional.
