In British Eng, how would you say two zeroes "00", for example, especially while giving a phone number? I am practicing listening and doing some exercises as well. On a recording, I heard a saying "two o" and I wrote down "two and zero (20)" as the answer. OMG! I was not quite right. They were not "two and zero", but two zeroes. I got damn confused. I listened to the recording a number of times and I heard the same each time. Later, I checked to see the answers and finally I got to know what they really were. Why not say double zero, then it is much clearer.
'Double zero' is OK — even 'triple zero' — but I wouldn't go any further with 'quadruple zero' for example.
I'd say 100001 as 'One double zero double zero one', or 'one double oh double oh one'.
We all know that James Bond is 'double oh seven' — not 'double zero seven'.
