    She is being helped out.

    In what situation can one say "She/He is being helped out"?
    If I were a native speaker of English, I would never shut up. :-)

    I don't know. I just can't make out the difference between "help" and "help out".
    E.g. somebody I know is in a difficult situation (has lost his job or his relatives are all in hospital etc), and I know that other people help him/her (they come to see him/her, bring him/her useful things etc)? Can I say she is being helped out? Or just She is being helped? Is there any difference?
