Red face Gift of the gab

What could be the equivalent of "Gift of the gab" for a good writer. As we say " He has gift of the gab" to a good orator, what should we call a person who is a prolific writer.

    Re: Gift of the gab

You could consider 'He has a way with words'.

"Wordsmith" will be appropriate ? Or any other more suitable and effective expression ?
