What's your father?

What dos your father do?

Are both the above sentences correct and do they convey the same meaning?

They are correct if you spell 'does' correctly. There are contexts in which they mean the same. There are many contexts in which they mean different things.

"What's your father?" is a strange question. It does not work for me without a very narrow context.

 The normal question is "What does your father do?" The answer is often a noun - and once the idea of a noun is introduced to the context, the What question makes sense.

Example:

"What does your father do?"

"He‘s a teacher. What‘s your father?‘

Yes, that's the normal question in one of the contexts I thought of too.

"He‘s a teacher. What‘s your father?‘
That's also a normal reply in that context.
Yes, I think it's safe to say that's correct in the context of asking what a person's father does for a living, what his job is.
