    Is that Reliance indutries.

    Talking to Phone:

    Is that Reliance Industries?

    Is it Reliance industries?

Are both the above sentences correct?

    We usually use "that".

Americans will ask 'Is this Reliance Industries?' (bizarrely in my opinion).

"This" is used in BrE too but not as commonly as "that".

No, it doesn't. Which reply indicates that "it" is not wrong?
Obviously, you can say anything. "Reliance Industries?", "I'm trying to contact Reliance Industries", "Am I speaking to Reliance Industries?" I could think of a hundred different things to say before I'd say "Is it Reliance Industries?"

The receptionist will have been trained not to get smart with customers, but the obvious answer to "Is it Reliance Industries?" is "Is what Reliance Industries?"

Actually, the receptionist will have been trained to say 'Good morning. Thank you for calling Reliance Industries. Blodwen speaking. How may I direct your call?'.

I agree with Raymott that the person answering the phone should have said the name of the company. However, there is the possibility that it's not a clear line or that the person calling wasn't really concentrating! On that basis, it is possible that the caller will need to double-check that they have phoned the right company. The fact remains that "Is that XXX?" is the most likely thing a BrE speaker would use in that situation.
