    withdraw from

    Hello,

could you please explain the meaning of the verb "withdraw from" in the following sentence:

The brokerage house withdraws from maintaining the securities account for the client.

Does it mean that the brokerage house is not responsible for maintaining the account?

And one more question: Who is a civil manager? Is it the same function as a civil engineer?

    Thank you very much.

I think that means the brokerage house is removing itself from maintaining the securities etc.
