What about: 'You would play basketball tomorrow. Would you?'

After reading the above, I think backshift is obligatory rather than optional in the subordinate clause after such verbs as 'know', 'think', 'realize', 'imagine', 'envision', 'remember' and 'forget'.

Am I right or wrong? Not a teacher.

What about: 'You would play basketball tomorrow. Would you?'

Provided it's punctuated correctly, I don't see anything wrong with that (e.g. to indicate surprise).

You would play basketball tomorrow, would you?
