"What effects can watching television have in children?"
Can I talk about both advantages and disadvantages of watching television on this question? Effect can mean both pros and cons, right?
I would use "What effects ... on children?"
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
Do you, by your opinion, mean that both "on" and "in" can be used in that question? Or Is "in" wrong there? I too think that "effect" is, generally, followed by "on". But I cannot make sure about "in". I just came across that question in a leaflet.
