    what's the meaning of "to tend to hold ","to below itself out" and "to fan it into life" ?Thank you!

    1 It means that you usually hold it, but not always
    2 blow itself out- when a fire goes out without external factors
    3 use a fan or something simialr to increase the oxygen flow to manke something burn better- can also
    2 & 3 can also be used figuratively- a speech can fan fires into life if it makes people angry, for example.
