    Conditional Sentences

    "In this environment of rising costs and inflationary pressures, wouldn't it be ideal if your savings continue/continued to earn healthy returns?"

    Just to clarify, this sentence is conditional right? Therefore it should be "continued"? But then again, "continue" also sounds right.

    Advice? Thanks in advance :)

    I would use continued. However, you might find some that would use continue to sound more certain about how they are performing now.
