    In BrE, you could use either.

    I am going to watch Manchester United play tomorrow.
    I am going to Wimbledon this year. I'm hoping to see Nadal play.
    I watched the Djokovic/Ferrer match yesterday.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    But surely in BrE, you wouldn't "go see" or "go watch" something. In AusE, we still "go and see", or "go to see something".

    You're right. I missed that. We would indeed add "and" (or "to") between "go" and "see/watch".
