The French Revolution had a deep impact on the political and THE SOCIAL/SOCIAL ideas

    This is not my homework.

Which of the following is correct and, if the both are correct, is there any difference in meaning?

1:-The French Revolution had a deep impact on the political and SOCIAL ideas of many nations.
2:-The French Revolution had a deep impact on the political and THE SOCIAL ideas of many nations.

    Thanks for replying.

You don't need the second "the", but it's not wrong either. They mean the same. One could argue that 'social' and 'political' mean practically the same in this context; and you could also use 'socio-political ideas'.
