Is the word pursuant verb or none?

I heard people said "he did not want pursuant (or may be to pursuant)..." What does pursuant mean? Is it verb, none or what else? Can you explain it? Thanks.

Re: Is the word pursuant verb or none?

Have you tried a dictionary? A dictionary will list not only definitions but also parts of speech.

The phrase you heard may have been 'pursuant to'.

However, in your sentence, the word is not used correctly, so are you certain that's the actual word you heard?

From your partial example, it sounds like you may have misheard something like 'he did not want to pursue any (some word beginning with the letter 't')'

Pursuant and pursue are different (although related) words.

The word "noun" is not spelled "none".

In any case "he did not want pursuant (or may be to pursuant)" are both meaningless.

    Pursuant is an adverb.
