    Wrap up

I am wondering if I could use "wrap up" in this kinds of sentences. Would you please correct my mistakes?

    1. After her husband's death she was wrapped up in her pain and almost stopped talking to the others.
    2. John was wrapped up in his book about modern painting.
    3. They were wrapped up in endless discussions the whole afternoon.

    Re: Wrap up

    All three sentences sound natural.

    Is "the" necessary?

    Re: Wrap up

It depends. If we know who "the others" are (perhaps specific members of her family) then it's required. If she almost stopped talking to everyone else, then you can say "to others" meaning simply "to other people".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
