    Which one sounds better?

    Choosing between the infernal debts and the relentless bickering of/from my next of kin, I would have chosen the former in a heartbeat!

    or

    Left to choose between the infernal debts and the relentless bickering of/from my next of kin, I would have chosen the former in a heartbeat!

    Please point out any errors.

    Of the two, I prefer the second. I would probably use "If I had had to choose between ...". Note that I have used the past perfect.

    If I had to choose between ... I would choose the former.
    If I had had to choose between ... I would have chosen the former.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
