Arrow A thought about another way of learning grammar?

Is it possible to find another way to understand how to understand grammar? Maybe color code it, list it like a list cat=noun or write a story with the words noun verbs participle etc? My handicap is learning grammar, would you think there is another way to teach or how to learn the use of grammar to a person like me? Thoughts? Paul

Re: A thought about another way of learning grammar?

I think we have asked you this before but I'm not sure that we got an answer - why do you feel that you need to "learn grammar"? We understand your desire to learn how to write more comprehensible English but I'm not sure that, as a native English speaker, you really need to go to the effort of learning all the terminology and then practising particular aspects of it.
Why don't you post a few short pieces (stories) for us to look at and see what changes we would suggest? You will probably learn just as much from that.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

What grade have you reached there in the USA? How has learning grammar suddenly become necessary for you? What kind of teaching are you receiving?

EDIT: Cross-posted with ems. If you write a few short pieces, post them one at a time in the Editing & Writing Topics forum.

Click on the underlined link above to see what sort of help is available in that forum.

I don't know your level, but I have attached a link to the program that was used to teach me in school.

You are not missing anything by not knowing "Grammar."

Most native speakers aren't good at identifying parts of speech, phrases, clauses, etc.

Work on your writing and don't worry about parts of speech.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
