    Re: formal letter to embassy

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to enquire about the status of my visa application which was lodged on (DATE).
My visa application was for emergency travel, but my case number hasn't yet appeared on your website.

I would be most grateful if you could expedite the processing of my application, or at least update me of its current status.
Otherwise, I would have to cancel my travel arrangements.

    Yours sincerely,

    XYZ.

    Re: formal letter to embassy

I believe the embassy would give special consideration to genuine cases of emergencies. Perhaps, you should give a bit more detail as to why you have to travel urgently to make your case stronger. The title of your letter could be "Appeal for Visa Approval for Emergency Travel".
    I am not a teacher.

    Re: formal letter to embassy

You will indeed need to explain, and show evidence of, the specific emergency which means you must travel, even if you gave details on your application form. If the form is simply in the system, it might be that no-one has even read the details of the emergency yet. I recommend that you repeat the details of the emergency and make it very clear (in this email) what your proposed date of travel is.

Note that there is no need to write a new post (let alone two new posts) to say "Thanks". Click on the "Thank" button in the bottom left-hand corner of any post you find helpful. It saves time for everyone.
