    A friend got his nickname wasabi 'cause he spelt wasabi on his pants. He says to us

    A friend got his nickname wasabi 'cause he spelt wasabi on his pants.

    He says to us - "I spill wasabi on my pants once time people!"

    Shouldn't he have used the past tense?
