    meaning of the word "rack"

I heard in a listening CD that a car was taken for safety inspection and the person in charge said, "The radiator leaks. I got three cars in the rack. it's all over the place down here, you know." I looked up different meanings of the word "rack" but I couldn't get the meaning. Will you please help me?
    Thanks

Re: meaning of the word "rack"

Have you ever been to a service shop and seen them lift the cars up so they can work under them?

Re: meaning of the word "rack"

In this context, a rack is a hydraulic mechanical device which lifts the car up in the air, so that mechanic can stand upright underneath the car in order to inspect or work on it. Another name for it is a 'lift'.

    Here are some pictures.
